Pre-Operative Instructions/Day of Surgery

Arrangements have been made for your surgical care at New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital located at 506 Sixth Street on the 3rd floor.

You will receive a call from the hospital with the time of surgery. Sometimes because of emergencies and changes in the operating rooms schedule your surgical procedure may be delayed or advanced. Please be understanding that the day of surgery might require being at the hospital all day if necessary.

Do not eat or drink anything after midnight the night before surgery including water. If you take daily medication, please speak with your primary care physician before discontinuing any medication.

DO NOT take any aspirin or aspirin like medications including (ALEVE, ADVIL, MOTRIN, IBUPROFEN) for at least ten days before surgery.

To get the best and safest results optimal pre-operative medical assessment and management is required. You will receive a call from New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital for pre-admission testing.
